Privacy Policy

Noted Scholar is deliberately light on data collection. This page describes, in plain language, what is collected, why, and what your options are.

What we collect directly

Nothing you don't send us. This site has no user accounts, no comment system, and no forms. The only personal data we receive directly is whatever you choose to include when you email hello@notedscholar.com. Emails are used solely to reply to you, are not added to any marketing list, and are never sold or shared.

Analytics

We keep analytics minimal. The site may use privacy-focused, aggregate analytics (page views, referrers, country-level location) to understand which articles are useful. This data is aggregated, is not used to build individual profiles, and is not shared with advertisers. We do not run advertising networks or third-party ad trackers on this site.

Affiliate links and cookies

Some articles contain affiliate links to tools we review. When you click one, the destination site or its affiliate network (for example, Rewardful or similar programs operated by the tool vendors) may set a cookie in your browser so that a later subscription can be attributed to this site. That cookie is set and controlled by the third party, not by us — we never see your name, email, or payment details from an affiliate purchase, only anonymous, aggregate commission reports.

Affiliate links on this site are always disclosed: at the top of any article that contains them, and in full at the affiliate disclosure page.

Third-party services

• Fonts: pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers. Google may log the request (including your IP address) per its own privacy policy.
• Hosting: the site is served by a hosting provider that, like all web servers, processes IP addresses in standard server logs for security and delivery purposes.

Your choices and rights

• You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; the site's content works fine without them.
• You can use browser extensions to block analytics; every article remains fully readable.
• If you are in a jurisdiction with data-protection rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and similar), you may request access to or deletion of any personal data we hold — in practice, that means emails you have sent us. Write to hello@notedscholar.com and we will comply.

Children

This site is written for university-level researchers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially — for example, if we ever add an email newsletter — the effective date above will be updated and the change described here. We will never retroactively expand what is collected without saying so.
